The Barcelona Christmas Tour is back!

03/12/2021 - 08:05 h

The Barcelona Christmas Tour is back, with two longer daily routes on every day of the week, through until 2 January 2022. The service will not be operating on 25 December or 1 January.

Barcelona City Council, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) and Turisme de Barcelona are putting the Barcelona Christmas Tour back on the road, offering a night-time double-decker bus tour for discovering different corners of the city with Christmas lights and decorations.

The Barcelona Christmas Tour runs every day of the week, this year operating from 26 November to 2 January and offering two start times: one at 6 pm and another at 8 pm (except for 25 December and 1 January). The tours set off from the Barcelona Bus Turístic stop in Plaça de Catalunya (side nearest the Besòs, in front of El Corte Inglés).

Route around the city’s most iconic spots

The route for the Barcelona Christmas Tour takes in the city’s main streets, avenues and iconic buildings which are specially decorated and lit up for the Christmas period.

Highlights this year include Plaça Catalunya, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Carrer Aragó, which feature a new lighting model for the city, designed by the Estudi Antoni Arola.

The 90-minute route also takes in other city centre streets such as Passeig de Gràcia, the Cathedral and illuminated buildings like La Pedrera, the Casa Batlló, the Hospital de Sant Pau, the Sagrada Família, the Torre Glòries and the Arc de Triomf, as well as the Santa Llúcia and Sagrada Família Christmas Fairs.

Inside the bus, passengers will get live explanations from the team of guides, in Catalan, Spanish and English, with a playlist of Christmas carols also helping to provide the ambience.

Ticket prices are 15 euros for adults and 10 euros for children aged 4 to 12.

This is the third year this special route has been operated by the Barcelona Bus Turístic, having proved highly popular on the previous occasions.
