Weekend rail services to stop at 2 am

Public transport services are adapted to the decision by the government to bring forward closing times to 0.30 am. This means metro lines (TMB), FGC rail services and TRAM lines will all operate until 2 am, in other words an hour and a half after the closing time for night-time activities.

As from Friday, 16 July, public rail services operating on Friday and Saturday nights will stop at 2 am.

The decision was taken by the ATM, at the request of the administrations in the consortium and the main public transport operators, following the decision by the Catalan government to bring forward maximum closing times for all activities to 0.30 am. The aim is to control the increase in cases and reduce the transmission of the coronavirus.

This means that metro lines (TMB), FGC rail services and TRAM lines will all operate until 2 am, in other words an hour and a half after the closing time for night-time activities.

Operating times for rail services will therefore be from 5 am to 2 am the following day, every Friday and Saturday, until otherwise announced. In relation to the Nitbus service operated by the AMB and night-time bus services operated by the Catalan government, service levels will remain unchanged at 100%.

The ATM reminds users of the importance of strictly respecting the established measures to protect people’s health, particularly the correct use of face masks, which are still obligatory on public transport.
