Women and sport
The creation of the Gender Equality Office responds to the following objectives:
• To ensure compliance with the objectives determined by Barcelona City Council's various plans and regulations on gender equality in the world of sport.
• To promote the role of women in the world of sport, in terms of doing sport and in decision-making bodies in the sports sector.
• To ensure equal opportunities, without gender discrimination.
In order to develop this Office, the IBE has a series of actions and programmes concerning sport, physical activity and discrimination for reasons of gender.
