The current drought situation in Barcelona has a direct impact on the city’s municipal sports facilities. The Barcelona Sports Institute (IBE) has established an action protocol for the activation of Emergency Phase I, with the aim of minimising the effects of the drought and offering efficient and sustainable alternatives that respect the current levels of water resources.
The application of this protocol responds to Government Agreement 18/2024 of 16 January, for which the Government of Catalonia approved a specific modification of the Special Action Plan in Situations of Alert and Possible Drought.
