The ceremony was held in Passeig Marítim de Nova Icària and at the Bogatell groyne on Sunday, 19 November, and attended by representatives from the P(A)T and Stop Accidents road accident victims’ associations, as well as the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR).
Every third Sunday in November, this commemoration pays homage to those who have suffered road accidents and aims to raise awareness among drivers and institutions about the collective responsibility to prevent accidents.
The tribute, which included a reading of poems written by various relatives and the laying of a wreath, ended with a minute’s silence and various pieces of music.
Preventing road accidents, and more precisely the effect that alcohol and drug consumption have in terms of reckless driving, will be the main topic for the 29th Barcelona Road Safety Forum on Thursday, 30 November.
