In the event of doubt, you can assess whether an online shop is safe based on whether it provides contact details and sufficient information about the products and terms of purchase and delivery, whether the address changes from http to https or whether you can find positive online reviews on the company.

And, above all, we would like to make two recommendations:

• Avoid giving your bank details (account number, passwords) or personal data (telephone number, address, Spanish national identity document number) by email or on web forms of unclear origin.
• Avoid making payments from public computers and open Wi-Fi networks, and always use more secure methods, such as prepaid cards (which can be pre-loaded with exact amounts) or secure payment gateways.

And, finally, it is important to remember that, if you have any problems when buying in online shops based outside the European Union, the situation may be more complex and difficult to resolve.
