The OMIC continues to provide its services to the public electronically and through the 010 phone service. Claims and enquiries will continue to be preferably dealt with online. For those inquiries or complaints that require face-to-face attention, you must make an appointment in advance on the municipal procedures portal ajuntament.barcelona.cat/cita/omic, by calling 010, or at the Municipal Procedures Kiosk.
Internet security
As to online purchases, we recommend that you only use trusted shops or those for which you have references. In the event of doubt, you can assess whether an online shop is safe based on whether it provides contact details and sufficient information about the products and terms of purchase and delivery, whether the address changes from http to https or whether you can find positive online reviews on the company.
And, above all, we would like to make two recommendations:
- Avoid giving your bank details (account number, passwords) or personal data (telephone number, address, Spanish national identity document number) by email or on web forms of unclear origin.
- Avoid making payments from public computers and open Wi-Fi networks, and always use more secure methods, such as prepaid cards (which can be pre-loaded with exact amounts) or secure payment gateways.
And, finally, it is important to remember that, if you have any problems when buying in online shops based outside the European Union, the situation may be more complex and difficult to resolve.
