On 8 June, the Barcelona Superblock project will be presented to the public

Barcelona Superblock aims to transform the streets of the Eixample neighbourhood. So that it can do this, on 8 June, we are beginning a new phase of the participatory process, with a session open to the public where the project’s characteristics will be detailed.
The Barcelona Superblock project will soon make changes to the Eixample neighbourhood, creating four new green corridors on Carrer del Consell de Cent, de Rocafort, del Comte Borrell and de Girona, as well as four large green squares on the intersections between Carrer del Consell de Cent and Carrer de Rocafort, del Comte Borrell, d’Enric Granados and de Girona.
These streets and squares will act as new, traffic-free meeting points for residents, with places for leisure and play, improved environmental quality and more local commerce. But, to achieve this, everyone needs to get involved. The City Council has already held meetings with local organisations and groups, but now it is time for the participatory process to open up to the public.
The first session will take place on 8 June, at 6:30 pm, and can be attended in person at the Eixample District Hall (Carrer d’Aragó, 311) or followed virtually online. To attend in person or virtually, please register beforehand via Decidim Barcelona by clicking here.
Residents’ contributions will enrich the projects that have emerged from the call for ideas made a few months ago. Over eighty teams of engineers, architects and urban planners presented proposals, and the jury chose the winners.
