Work contracts for 329 unemployed people as part of the Pla Endreça
09/03/2024 - 10:12 h
A total of 329 unemployed people with the most difficulties in finding work will have the chance to work for at least six months on maintaining and cleaning public space. Organised through Barcelona Activa and forming part of the Pla Endreça, these comprehensive contract programmes (PIC) also include training. The contracts must help boost municipal cleaning teams and bring notable results in the maintenance of public space.
In all, 263 places are being offered on programmes geared towards the maintenance and improvement of public space, along with 66 focusing on social behaviour and coexistence. The programmes have a labour insertion rate of 50%. The first 127 plans will get under way in April and the rest are to be rolled out from July. Everybody on the programme will be identified with a yellow Pla Endreça waistcoat.
These occupational measures are being rolled out in collaboration with the Catalan Employment Service and through Barcelona Activa. In terms of contract periods, 88 contracts are being offered for six months, 114 for seven months and 127 for nine months. The cost to the City Council for the 329 places on these programmes for the unemployed is 5.7 million euros, which includes contracting users, training them and overseeing their evolution.
