Identification and inventory of highly sensitive facilities and services
A series of the city's most vulnerable facilities and services have been identified and listed according to type, user profile, capacity and level of care, under this joint project between the city's Social Services, Guàrdia Urbana [city police] and Civil Protection and Prevention Division.
Having these facilities and services located means, for example, that when a critical incident occurs or an emergency alert phase is activated anywhere in the city, the City Council will be able to check if any of these facilities are in the affected area in order to deploy the necessary operational teams.
Highly sensitive facilities
Facilities and services are considered highly sensitive where protocols to cut off contracted basic utility services (electricity, water, gas) are activated by supply companies or where an emergency situation in the city means they need specific and immediate assistance to ensure the basic needs of people there are covered.
The first inventory of highly sensitive facilities was compiled in 2013 and updated in 2017.
The data used for compiling the inventory were taken from public information published on Barcelona City Council's various free information channels.
