The purpose of this call for applications is to continue supporting the Christmas lighting initiative led by traders’ associations in the city of Barcelona while also promoting local and urban commerce during this time of year, thereby helping to create a festive atmosphere and enhance the city’s image. 

Traders’ associations representing the sector and Barcelona City Council are working closely to promote local businesses in the city through a variety of initiatives for the Christmas season. The goal is to promote traditional cultural, recreational and shopping activities for this time of year, creating a festive atmosphere that helps improve the image of the city streets during this special season.

The applicants or beneficiaries of these grants are traders’ associations in the city of Barcelona.

Traders’ associations that include street sections where Barcelona City Council provides Christmas lighting services will not be eligible to apply for these grants. 

The application will last 15 working days from the day after the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona. 

The grant application must be completed online by the applicant using the web form available on the Barcelona City Council procedures portal. 

The budget must be prepared by an approved installation company listed in the directory of installers issued by the Lighting Services of the Barcelona City Council Department of Ecology, Urban Planning, Infrastructure and Mobility. The list is available on the Barcelona City Council’s e-headquarters, together with the other documentation for the call.
