Barcelona and Catalonia, stars at the presentation of the 2026 Tour de France in Paris
This morning, the Palais des Congrès in Paris is hosting the official presentation of the 2026 Tour de France, the most important cycling race in the world, which for the first time in its history will start in Barcelona.
The event brings together institutional representatives, international media and members of the Tour organisation to present all the details of the next edition of the race and, most importantly, to discover two major creative projects linked to the Grand Départ Barcelona 2026: the official poster and the promotional film, both made in their entirely by creators from Barcelona.
The official poster, designed by the SMLXL studio and illustrator Albert Tercero, is the result of an open call promoted by the Barcelona City Council, with support from the Association of Graphic Design and Visual Communication (ADG-FAD). The work combines the colours and energy of Barcelona and France, with a look that unites sport, culture and city under the spirit of the Tour.
During the presentation, the film of the Grand Départ Barcelona 2026, produced by a Barcelona audiovisual team, will also be screened for the first time. The video highlights the long-standing relationship of Barcelona and Catalonia with cycling, spanning more than 150 years, and highlights its commitment to sustainable mobility, sport and healthy living.
The event will also present the complete route of the race, which includes three Catalan stages, with a third stage that will depart from Granollers.
With the official start of the Tour de France 2026, Barcelona confirms its position once more as the world capital of cycling and as a city capable of combining sport, creativity and culture to project itself to the world.
