This evening sees the celebration of the 13th edition of the Gala Estrelles del Futbol Català, the annual event of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF) which recognises the best players of the season. The event will take place at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm and will be presented by Gerard Romero, Laia Ferrer and Víctor Navarro.

Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal have been chosen as the best female and male players of the year. The jury, which met on 9 December, has also recognised Míchel Sánchez, for his involvement with the Catalan language and his sporting success with Girona, and Espanyol, on the occasion of its 125th anniversary.

The list of award winners is completed by Víctor Garcia Verdura (best referee), Robert Martínez (best coach), Pau Cubarsí and Clara Serrajordi (exceptional young talent), Javi Puado and Alexia Putellas (top scorers) and, in futsal, Adolfo Fernández, Paula Guix and Xavi Closas.
