Safety and prevention. The second award the City Police has received recently, following the Meninas award at the end of October.

The full municipal council in the city in the Vallès area gave an award to the Barcelona City Police Emergency and Proximity Reinforcement Unit on Wednesday, collectively congratulating them in a ceremony for Municipal Police Day.

The award is given to people from other police corps, organisations and institutions who in their professional activity stand out for their relationship with the city’s municipal police.

The City Police collaborates regularly with other cities and local police corps on a national or international level, through organisations such as the Strong Cities Network, or projects such as the Spirit initiative, which was the focus of a meeting in Barcelona in October, and with specific activities such as the training visit to the city by the Madrid Municipal Police in the middle of September.

This collective public recognition is the second award the corps has received recently, following the Meninas Award, which was given to the Support Service for the Victims of Sexist Violence at the end of November. The City Council has also recently received two more awards linked to safety and prevention.
