Vehicle repairs
If you own a vehicle, you should bear in mind that sooner or later you will have to spend money repairing a fault. You can prevent many serious faults if you drive and look after the vehicle carefully, but some faults are unavoidable.
In order to avoid nasty surprises when it comes to paying for repairs, ask the garage for a detailed quote in advance. Once this is ready, it will be valid for 12 days and can be used as proof. If you do not accept the quote, bear in mind that you may be charged for its preparation even if no repairs are finally made.
Garage staff may identify more faults while carrying out the repair. They must inform you of these before repairing them. They may not carry out any new repairs without your consent. Bear in mind that the garage must comply with the agreed delivery time for the vehicle and must inform you if it is unable to do so. You can only be charged for storing your vehicle if you have taken more than three working days to collect it.
Once the repair has been carried out, remember to ask for an invoice and make sure every item is included in it. You will have a warranty period of three months, or 15 days in the case of industrial vehicles. In either case, the warranty can also be based on mileage, in which case it applies to up to 2,000 km.
If you have any claims, you can fill in the official form made available by the company for such cases. If you do not receive a response within 30 days, you can make the claim at the Municipal Consumer Information Office.
