Joining forces against sexist violence
As ever, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Barcelona reaffirms its stance as an openly anti-sexist city, reflecting how the struggle against sexist violence goes right across the board in city policies.
Only by working together will we put an end to male violence towards women. That’s why the 2022 campaign focused on building alliances between all citizens and tackling the structural violence we want to do away with, under the slogan “Building alliances against sexism towards women”.
Our aim is to do this by addressing both the causes and the effects of sexist violence in all its dimensions and in all spheres of everyday life for women.
For this year’s 25N, we advocated a shared struggle to put an end to all types of sexist violence and issued an institutional call to all city stakeholders to join forces and eradicate these types of violence from our society.
