The captain of Barcelona's first division women’s team, she received the Best Catalan Player of the Year award in 2015, and she is the first woman in the world to win the Golden Ball two years in a row, as well as being the first Spanish player, male or female, to do so. She is also the first woman to score a goal in the Johan Cruyff Stadium and the Camp Nou in modern times. In 2021, she was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi (St George’s Cross), which she received with a speech protesting against the lack of equal opportunities between men and women in sport and in all other fields.
