Every year since 2005, and within the framework of the Citizen Agreement for a City free of Violence towards Women, Barcelona City Council has called for nominations for the 25 November Award to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Based on the premise that gender violence is a serious violation of human rights, the Council wants to take steps to ensure full citizenship, autonomy and freedom for women in the city.

The aim of the call is to provide financial resources and institutional support that will help the winning project to be carried out. The project must not have already been implemented, but may be in the initial stages of implementation.

Target population

Natural persons, groups, associations and entities based in the city of Barcelona may submit a project.

2023: 18th edition of the award

With the theme “Anti-sexist and Anti-racist BCN”, this year’s award aims to address and act on the various realities and challenges that these two struggles pose, with the understanding that we can no longer talk about anti-sexism or anti-racism without tackling the links between the two.

The cash award is worth €15,000 and the entry submission period ended on 18 September 2023.
