The Men’s Care Programme (SAH Homes) is for men over 21 who live, work or study in Barcelona. The work carried out is based on the men’s willingness to change and improve their personal relationships, in order to avoid using any type of violence.

The programme contents deal with aspects such as:

  • Identifying and recognising violent behaviour and attitudes.
  • Assuming responsibility for violent acts and their consequences.
  • Understanding why they use violence.
  • Getting to know the process of gender violence.
  • Looking for non-violent alternatives in their relationships.

The SAH staff support and help users to define their own treatment plan, and offer them individual psychological care spaces, group treatments and legal advice.

The men’s programme also works with users who, as parents, see their use of violence has affected their children.

SAH Pares aims to make fathers aware of the impact violence against their partner and children has.

It works on aspects such as:

  • Parenting skills.
  • Building healthy relationships with sons and daughters.
  • Detecting children’s needs.
  • The effect violence has on their lives.
  • Identifying and recognising violence.
  • Looking for non-violent alternatives in their relationships.

Access to the service is direct – by phone, email or in person. Men may also be referred to the service by other services.

The service hours are from Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 2 pm and 3 pm to 8 pm, and Friday, 9 am to 3 pm.
