Women and science. Schools and women scientists can sign up before 12 January to participate in the meetings that will take place around the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and the Fundació Catalana per a la Recerca i la Innovació (FCRI) are organising a new edition of #100tífiques. The initiative, which has the collaboration of the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, is framed in the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, on 11 February. On this occasion, BIST and FCRI are calling on women scientists and schools to participate in the activities of this year’s 2024 edition. Registrations must be formalised before 12 January.

The main objectives of #100tífiques are to inspire girls and young women, to contribute to overcoming stereotypes surrounding science and technology, and to encourage the country’s women scientists to network among themselves. As part of the programme, around 11 February, the participating women scientists give talks at schools all over Catalonia and, a few days beforehand, they are invited to an inspiring meeting where they share experiences, establish new contacts and strengthen existing ones.

This year, the annual #100tífiques training, inspiration and networking day will take place on 1 February at the Barcelona School of Industrial Engineering (ETSEIB-UPC). As for the meeting in schools, this will be held on Wednesday 7 February. The #100tífiques website has all the information, as well as the registration form for schools that want to participate in the programme so that a scientist can explain her experience and research to students between 6th grade and 1st year of ESO. The website also includes a registration form for female researchers, technologists, managers and enterprising scientists who wish to inspire future vocations with a talk at a school.

Whether you represent a school or are a scientist, don’t delay. Register before 12 January!
