In the women’s category, Joyciline Jepkosgei took centre stage. The Kenyan athlete broke the record for the event in a time of 1:04:29′, setting the fastest women’s time in the world so far for 2024. Senbere Teferi (1:04:40′) and Gladys Chepkurui (1:06:32′) came second and third respectively.

Besides the overall records, various national records were also beaten. Camilla Richardson (Finland), and Sara Schou (Sweden) both broke the women’s national record for their countries, while Rosa Mota (Portugal) broke her national record in the women’s over-65 category.

Artur Bossy (1:03:23′) was the fastest Catalan in the event, while Laura Rodríguez (1:12:58′) clocked up the best women’s time at a national level.

The solidarity side to the run raised 24,073 euros for the Institut Guttman, thanks to the initiative of the Zurich Foundation, which donated 1 euro for every finisher.

The eDreams Barcelona Half Marathon by Brooks 2024 consolidated its position as one of the most important half marathons in the world, offering a unique experience to all participants and demonstrating Barcelona’s passion for sport.
