The First Swim of the Year comes to Sant Sebastià beach with a charitable aim
A recreational-sporting activity that invites participants to start the new year with energy and good humour.
Tomorrow, 1 January at 12.00 noon, Sant Sebastià beach will be the setting of the traditional First Swim of the Year.
Taking place outside the facilities of the Atlètic-Barceloneta Swimming Club, this event has become an unmissable date for the boldest and most daring among us.
As well as being great fun, the First Swim of the Year is a charitable event. The registration fee, with a symbolic cost of €4, goes entirely to two entities that work to improve the quality of life of homeless people: Projecte Sostre and Salut Sense Sostre.
Registration provides participants with access to the club’s facilities, including use of the changing rooms and lockers, and a cup of hot broth after the swim. The event combines sport, solidarity and tradition, making the first swim an original and committed way to welcome in the new year.
