The project is based on the reuse of greywater and river water for watering the club’s courts and gardens. This is achieved using a next-generation treatment system that enables the RCTB club to be 95% self-sufficient in its water consumption, making it the first sports facility in Spain to reach this goal.

This means the RCTB is now a benchmark for the sustainable management of water resources in the sport sector. An example that demonstrates how innovation and environmental responsibility can go hand in hand.

The Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde Godó Trophy, which is being held from 15 to 23 April, will be the first tournament to benefit from the new water treatment system. This means that all the club’s courts and gardens will be watered using recycled water, thus helping to conserve water.
