The Sagrada Família Mile race is back, as strong as ever and open to anyone regardless of age
This year, the race, which is inclusive and open to anyone regardless of age or other factors, focused on school-age children to foster physical exercise in educational surroundings.
The Sagrada Família Mile, one of Barcelona’s classic races, was held again on Sunday to great success, providing fun, sport and community life as part of the Sagrada Família autumn festival programme.
A course for everyone
The Mile, whose main course is 1,609 metres long, included a number of courses for different groups: an 800-metre course for children and a 200-metre family race to enable local residents to run together in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
Promoting sport in local schools and sports clubs
This year, local schools and sports clubs were encouraged to take part in the Sagrada Família Mile race to encourage sport at school, giving children the chance to enjoy a bit of physical exercise and healthy competition in a family-friendly and inclusive environment.
This year’s edition of the Mile further emphasized its commitment to local sport and inclusivity for the entire community in a day full of good sportsmanship and unity among local residents.
