SAS is the specific service that the City Council makes available to women carrying out sex work in Barcelona, in particular those who offer and negotiate services on public streets. It is an interdisciplinary service, made up of psychologists, health workers, lawyers, education professionals and social workers, that provides support to individuals, groups and communities.

The SAS offers:

  • Local on-street care, mainly in the districts of Ciutat Vella, Sant Martí, Eixample, Les Corts and Sants-Montjuïc.
  • Comprehensive social, psychological, legal and health care at the office. It also has a free phone (900 722 200) for the people it attends to, as well as a drop-in support service that does not require booking in advance for (Thursdays, 11 am to 3 pm).

The support offered is based on helping the sex workers to access their rights and highlights the importance of detecting rights violations and situations of violence against the women.
