8 March. Talks, workshops and exhibitions to celebrate 8 March

To mark 8 March, the city’s Women’s Support and Information Points (PIAD) invite you to attend a host of free activities.

  • Online presentation of Women’s Information and Assistance Points (PIAD)
    Presentation of the PIAD service as a public resource offered by Barcelona City Council that provides information, advice and guidance in various fields for women. There will be four sessions, each organised by a PIAD from a different district:
    Wednesday 3 March, from 5 pm to 6 pm

  • Workshop for girls: ‘How do we construct our relationships?’
    What does a healthy relationship look like? What are the myths of romantic love? And what about coercive phrases? How can I detect if a friend is – or if I am – in an abusive relationship?
    We will talk about these and other issues through dynamics and debates that bring out everyone’s unique perspectives and experiences. The same workshop will take place on three different days, so you can choose the most suitable day for you:

  • Exhibition: ‘Where does the time go? The organisation of everyday life’.
    From 1 to 18 March at Vallcarca i els Penitents Library.
    This exhibition aims to explain what we mean when we talk about uses of time and to shed light on aspects related to this, including the central place occupied by caring for people.

  • Exhibition: ‘Free and fearless’
    From 1 to 25 March at Montserrat Abelló Library
    This exhibition supports women’s right to sexual freedom and safety in the public and private spheres. It is designed as an educational resource for visitors to reflect on what sexual violence is, how to identify it, what its causes are, and what can be done in situations of violence.

  • Exhibition: ‘A literature of one’s own: women writers’
    From 1 to 12 March at Sant Gervasi – Joan Maragall Library
    This exhibition aims to shed light on women’s work within Catalan literature and the impact of women’s contributions on Catalonia’s cultural production.
    Activity organised by the Sarrià PIAD, in collaboration with Sant Gervasi – Joan Maragall Library. Exhibition contributed by the Catalan Women’s Institute. No prior booking required.
