Since 2005, Barcelona City Council has been organising the 25 November Award to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women as part of its Citizen Agreement for a Barcelona Free of Violence against Women.
The theme for this year’s 25 November Award is “Anti-sexist and Anti-racist BCN”. It aims to address and act on the various realities and challenges that these two struggles pose, with the understanding that we can no longer talk about anti-sexism or anti-racism without tackling the links between the two.
The aim of the award is to provide financial resources and institutional support to the winning project, which must not have been implemented previously, but may be in the initial stages of implementation.
To be eligible, projects must aim to:
- Undertake research and reflection for the primary prevention of gender violence linked to racial discrimination.
- Implement strategies and actions in different areas where this year’s proposed theme is present, targeting the city’s population.
- Launch primary prevention actions that include the “gender violence-racial discrimination” duality.
- Carry out actions aimed at generating resources and tools for primary prevention to be developed under this call.
The cash award is worth €15,000 and the entry submission period will run from 1 to 18 September 2023.
You’ll find the terms and conditions of the award and full details about the call here.
