02/08/2024 - 12:10

LGBTI. The facility will continue to operate until 28 December, the idea being to provide continuity.

The Purple Point at the Marina station is to stay operational until 28 December. Its function is to inform people, raise awareness, prevent and address sexist attitudes and behaviour that occurs in public spaces. The facility will continue to function on Friday and Saturday nights at the entrance to the L1 station in C/ Almogàvers. Initially launched on 4 January 2024, the intention is for this service to continue.

The initiative was possible thanks to collaboration between the District of Sant Martí, which provides the resources needed for the facility, and TMB. It comes in addition to the steps being taken by the district within the specific plan with measures for the recreational triangle in El Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou.

The Purple Point will operate on Fridays, from 10 pm to 2 am, and Saturdays, from 11.30 pm to 3.30 am. It will be staffed by four professionals, two of them out and about on foot in the area and two at the fixed point at the entrance to the L1 station in C/ Almogàvers. A conditioned private room will be available for cases of harassment or sexist violence that require preliminary attention by sanitary staff and/or police if necessary.
