22/07/2024 - 11:02

25 November Award. Barcelona City Council has organised the 25 November Award contest to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

Every year since 2005, within the framework of the Citizen Agreement for a City Free of Violence Against Women, Barcelona City Council has organised the 25 November Award contest to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The theme for this nineteenth edition of the award is “Open and safe BCN spaces”.

Understanding that gender violence is a serious violation of human rights, Barcelona City Council wants to take steps to ensure full civic participation, autonomy and freedom for women in the city.

The aim of the contest is to provide financial resources and institutional support that will make it possible to carry out the winning project, which must be a new initiative (though it may be in the initial stages of implementation).

Projects may be submitted by natural persons over the age of 18, groups, associations or other non-profit organisations based in the city of Barcelona.

With the theme “Open and safe BCN spaces”, the idea is to emphasise practices that foster public spaces free of gender violence.

The monetary prize is 15,000 euros. The project submission period opens the day after the announcement of the call for applications is published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona and will close on 13 September 2024 at 11:59 pm.
