The Beach Centre, located under the Somorrostro Beach arches in front of the Hospital del Mar, is an information, meeting and training centre for anyone with an interest in the Barcelona coastline and related topics. The centre organises exhibitions, workshops, tours, storytelling, visits, entertainment, talks and games, as well as running a coastline information service, loaning out newspapers, books, magazines, beach games, sports equipment and more.

The centre's programme includes activities for individuals such as routes and guided tours of the coastline (the beach, the sea wall, the wholesale fish market, the zoo, the Barceloneta neighbourhood, CRAM, IMAX, etc.), workshops, marine biodiversity discovery activities, family workshops, documentary screenings and other things that will appeal to everyone. There are also activities for schools and organised groups, and the centre also offers information on beaches and advice on coastal matters.

The centre offers these services from March to September. Family activities are free, though places are limited. Bookings will be dealt with on a first-come, first-served basis. Other activities are organised jointly with the Espai de Mar, Fàbrica del Sol, Barcelona Zoo and other centres. The toy loan service is a rotating service, offered at beaches along the whole Barcelona coastline.
