Women's Support and Information Points also work in the community, carrying out awareness-raising activities aimed at the general public, with special emphasis on eradicating gender violence and taking part in community plans and sectoral networks.

The basic aim of PIAD community action is to contribute to citizen empowerment and strength, by raising awareness of situations of discrimination that have their origins in the inequalities of gender relationships (misogynist violence, employment discrimination, an unequal work-life balance, etc.) as well as informing about and highlighting women's knowledge, their history and their contribution to the history of the city.

Actions carried out by the PIAD in the community include:

  • Collaboration with city districts, organisations and associations in the organisation of awareness-raising activities throughout the year, and especially around 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and 8 March, International Women's Day.
  • Support and advice for women who are starting to constitute a formal group, with the aim of creating an organisation, sharing a space or developing a shared initiative.
  • Participation in theme-based committees (health, elderly people, young people, etc.) and community plans aimed at developing joint strategies for preventing and raising awareness about gender violence.
