Board of Directors

The Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens’ Board of Directors is made up of 12 members (see its composition).

Organisation Chart

The Institute’s first-level structure, effective as of 1 October 2020, consists of 4 directorates:

  • The Directorate for Conservation Services is tasked with directing, coordinating and managing the city's green spaces, trees and flower beds, as well as the internal logistics associated with such management (nurseries, machinery and vehicles).
  • The Directorate for Technical Services and Planning is tasked with establishing the technical parameters (for designing, managing, planning, etc.,) the tools and strategic plans for enabling the guidance and development of green spaces and their associated infrastructure. It thereby links together the worlds of conservation with that of green-space training, participation and revitalisation, as well as the management of buildings and facilities allocated to the Institute and information and information-processing services.
  • The General-Services Directorate is responsible for administering the resources made available by the Institute’s Manager's Office Board for the purposes of achieving the objectives set out, linked to human resources and their organisation, financial and administrative management and legal services.
  • The Directorate for Cross-Departmental Services with the Manager’s Office for Urban Ecology is tasked with guaranteeing the coverage of the cross-departmental services of the Manager’s Office for Urban Ecology and the City Council, in relation to and on behalf of the Institute, as well as for the quality of the various certified processes that it is committed to.

The Institute does not pay any compensation for dismissals that are not set out in the Statute of Workers.

Subsidies

The Barcelona Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens does not grant subsidies.

The municipal administration also puts several channels of face-to-face, telephone and online communication at the service of city residents for making inquiries or asking for information.

Code of Ethics and Conduct

The Code of Ethics and Conduct applies to all aspects of Barcelona City Council and the municipal bodies that are linked or answerable to it at any level (independent bodies, public business entities, municipal trading companies and companies that the City Council has a majority shareholding in, and consortia, foundations and associations that are answerable to Barcelona City Council).

It sets out the ethical principles and values of good governance that all municipal actions must follow and regulates the rules of conduct for all those it applies to must abide by.

Ethical Mailbox

Anyone who detects any form of misconduct can report this anonymously to the Office for Transparency and Good Practices, if they so wish, and monitor the possible actions that may arise from their report.

The Municipal Ethics and Good Governance Mailbox is authorised to deal with issues relating to the Institute.
