Grants to support projects that seek to empower sex workers and help them exercise their social and human rights in the city of Barcelona. Projects receiving grants must start in 2024 and conclude, at the latest, by 31 December 2025.

This call for submissions focuses on three different areas:

  • Area A: Improving the employability of sex workers.
  • Area B: Assistance and advice for sex workers.
  • Area C: Access to basic social and economic rights for highly vulnerable individuals working in prostitution experiencing emergency situations.

The projects awarded grants must have the following goals:

  • Promote, defend and guarantee equality for people of all genders, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
  • Contribute to the empowerment of cis and trans women who are currently working in prostitution, or have been in the past, so that they have the autonomy to take greater control of their lives.
  • Contribute to helping these individuals exercise their fundamental rights effectively.
  • Contribute to improving the network of associations working in the same field and promote collaboration among them.
  • Increasing the employability and skill levels of female participants.
  • Provide comprehensive medical, social, legal and psychological care for sex workers in closed spaces.
  • Provide emergency resources for highly vulnerable individuals working in prostitution.

Submission period: from 14 February to 12 March 2024, both inclusive.
