Reusable tableware
Public celebrations, festivals and events often use single-use plastic plates, cups and cutlery, which end up being thrown away as rubbish, and are therefore not recycled. Consequently, Barcelona City Council offers city organisations a new, free lending service of reusable tableware, which is ideal for these occasions.
Now they can use this tableware as if it was from home: it can be used, washed, put away and used again as often as necessary.
That means organisations won't have to buy, use and throw away plastic tableware every time they organise a celebration or an event, enabling savings on materials for their manufacture, management and treatment, once they become waste.
The reusable tableware is for a maximum of 600 people and includes various kinds of plates, cups, cutlery, trays, etc., which organisations can request free of charge, depending on their needs.
How can you request the reusable tableware?
To request the loan of reusable tableware, you need to send the booking form by email or deliver it in person to one of the two organisations that run the service.
