Coexistence in public spaces
The city is a large, diverse, densely populated space where a wide range of activities converge; it has a diverse population with many different individual and collective interests, which can often clash or can become a source of conflict.
This intensity of interactions, ideas, initiatives and ways of life makes the city a rich cultural space, while also giving rise to problems of coexistence at the same time. The civic-mindedness we want to encourage takes into account the associated behaviours and attitudes.
Coexistence in the public space requires people to share responsibility for avoiding anti-social behaviour and fostering respect for the city. To this end, the campaigns launched by the City Council address the main issues affecting coexistence over the course of the year, and emphasise the importance of adopting habits and customs that favour harmony, such as removing rubbish at the right time, taking due care of street furniture and having fun without disturbing other residents.
