Management of pests and diseases

Urban greenery contributes to the city's naturalisation and provides a range of environmental benefits. However, sometimes trees, palms, shrubs, and other plants in our environment can be affected by various pests and diseases.

Barcelona City Council, through the Municipal Institute of Parks and Gardens, is responsible for maintaining and protecting these plant elements and preventing or curing them from specific and significant pests and diseases, always considering the health of people and the environment.

The care, protection, and prevention of pests affecting all natural elements in green spaces is a municipal priority to maintain a healthier and more resilient green infrastructure against the effects of climate change.
