Numerous spaces in the city of Barcelona have been ceded to organisations and set up as allotments or community gardens.
Some of them are managed via the Get Green programme. If you’d like to find out about all the existing space, go to the section Urban Agriculture Observatory Open in a new window
What type of spaces are ceded?
The Get Green programme encourages non-profit organisations to activate green plots on unused municipal lands to:
- Create self-managed allotment or community gardens where activities related to greenery, biodiversity and nature can be fostered.
- Create biodiversity reserves and promote study and conservation activities.
These initiatives help to create a greener and more sustainable future for Barcelona and improve all its residents’ quality of life.
