Barcelona offers the opportunity of various routes to rediscover the most characteristic features of its green spaces. These routes are directed at young and old and are designed as spaces for disseminating knowledge of urban nature.

Green spaces are ideal spaces for taking a stroll in. Exploring a park or a garden in the middle of the city and suddenly changing landscape...moving from asphalt to nature in just a few minutes. Breathing and enjoying it.

Yet parks and gardens, spaces between blocks and allotments also offer a chance to discover a little more about our surroundings. These are spaces for learning about the world around us. Because green spaces also have room for science and culture.

Biomimetic route

Did you know that many of the inventions we use in our daily lives, for example Velcro, draw inspiration from nature?  Science and technology often copy the way that natural mechanisms create and innovate. In Parc del Guinardó you will find the city’s first biomimetic route, where you can discover how humanity very often emulates nature to keep advancing.

Educational farm route

The Can Cadena and Can Mestres farmhouses are two city facilities that have farm animals as well as cultivation areas. If you visit them you can follow an itinerary that offers you an insight into a typical Catalan farm: animals, crops etc.
