Can Valent allotment
This is a plot measuring 600m². It is a space with community terraces aimed at producing food for the participating members. It also includes a tool shed, a community composter, a smithy area and different structures for fauna scattered around the space.
The organisation that manages the allotment promotes social and economic projects for families with special needs and unemployed persons in the neighbourhood. Launched in 2016, the project is targeted at long-term unemployed people in Barcelona's northern area, with the goal of reactivating their productive skills and fostering participatory dynamics. With the collaboration of local organisations and residents, it promotes organic urban horticulture and contributes to transforming cities to become fairer, more ecological and more sustainable environments.
