Work under way to renew 19 children’s play areas

Play elements will be changed and improvements made to routes, paving and the spatial organisation of spaces. Accessibility criteria will be applied as these are very important in all revamps to play areas. The work is already under way in some spaces and will be carried out through until August. The projects form part of the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan, under the Pla Endreça.

The aim is to change play elements and improve play circuits taking into account accessibility criteria. At the same time, paving and furniture will be renewed and spaces reorganised to be able to separate gentle play areas from more active play spaces.

Accessibility is an important criterion in renewing children’s play areas. Because of this, all the projects adopt it to offer play possibilities for children with disabilities or functional diversity and with different degrees of challenge and motivation.

Work is already in progress in some areas and will be carried out over the coming months, with the final project expected to be completed in August. The budget planned for the work is 2 million euros and projects are part of the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan, under the Pla Endreça.
