Practise a language

To practise a language, you could join one of the conversation and language exchange groups in the night study rooms. The Jaume Fuster Library also organises conversation groups for language exchanges in any language and Fort Pienc Library organises Chinese-Catalan/Spanish conversation groups.

For those with advanced knowledge of a language, we recommend joining the foreign language reading clubs, where you can read works written in English, German, Italian or French, and the discussion sessions on the selected works are held in the language of the chosen club.

If you are interested in reading and discussing Catalan literature, you have the Catalan language reading clubs. The basic level aims to allow participants to practise the language through reading and discussing texts, while the intermediate level is aimed at people who wish to improve their fluency by reading and talking in Catalan.

Remember, if you have basic knowledge of Catalan and you wish to practise in a real and relaxed setting, you could join the " Language volunteers" programme.
