Multimedia spaces are IT classrooms equipped with tools for enabling people to use technologies, undergo training and gain access to digital information.
These spaces focus their activity on planning digital-literacy courses and workshops. You need to have a Biblioteques de Barcelona library card to register for these courses and workshops, and you can either register online or at the library itself. Training is also provided in collaboration with other institutions.
The multimedia spaces’ computers are freely available to all users who have a Biblioteques de Barcelona library card. When booked in advance, these spaces operate as a self-service facility during the free time periods, i.e. when no courses are being taught, and can be used for 32 sessions a month and two consecutive sessions a day.
The multimedia spaces offer an advice service on the use of IT technologies.
The Biblioteca Gervasi - Joan Maragall and Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló libraries have a mobile multimedia space. Both the furniture and IT equipment are mobile, for the purposes of organising different training models with laptops, tablets and smartphones.
